WRITING
Eric McKeever is an exciting New York based screenwriter, opera singer, audio fiction podcast producer, and roller coaster enthusiast. He is currently in the Pre-Rainbow Pages WGA Mentorship Program where he is honing his queer, black-centered, and women over forty inspired works. He was named a Finalist in the Roadmap Writers Coletta Preacely-Garcia Diversity Fellowship Program and his audio fiction podcast, “The Coach” was named a 2024 LA Webfest Best Comedy/Adventure Podcast Nominee.
His scripts have been a Top 50 Selection in the ISA Fast Track Fellowship, and he’s received accolades from the competitions of Stage 32, Table Read My Screenplay, and Filmmatic. When he’s not singing, screenwriting, or producing audio fiction, he can be found adapting operas for various companies, being co-librettist for original stage works, or writing his column, “Inside the Industry” for Classical Singer Magazine.
As an opera singer, Eric has performed with opera companies and orchestras throughout the US and managed to rarely exhibit diva(o)-like behavior. He’s even a little famous in that world and can be heard on Bright Shiny Label’s recording of Kamala Sankaram’s Looking at You as well as on the Aqua Net and Funyuns podcast produced by NYC’s Experiments in Opera.
Eric is known for his sharp, quirky sense of humor and having ridden 28 of the top 100 roller coasters in the US. He loves to travel, cook, listen to music, drink coffee, and watch a TON of television and film. He’s based on Long-Island (moved there for love) and resides with his fantastic, grounded husband and two cats, Malbec and Merlot. When asked to describe his “brand,” he responds: Titus Andromedon from “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” meets John Waters mixed with a bit of heart.
